Basic Belay Clinic - 8-10pm - February 17, 2026

Basic Belay Clinic - 8-10pm - February 17, 2026

This clinic is aimed to succinctly teach top rope belaying skills. The clinic will cover all things you need to know in order to be certified in belaying at the RAC climbing wall. Participants will learn the Pull Brake Under Slide (PBUS) method of taking rope. Participants will also learn how to tie in using a figure 8 follow through. They will also learn basic safety for indoor rock climbing and how to perform partner checks, the belay contract and more. These skills also translate to outdoor climbing and other gyms (note: you will still need to certify with other gyms according to their policy).  If you complete 3 clinics in a semester, you will receive a Southern Adventures sticker!

This clinic will take place February 17th from 8-10pm and will begin at the Southern Adventures rental center.

Clinics are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visit the Southern Adventures' website for more information on clinics.
